It may no longer travel the Sahara desert, and the ivory coast, but it still continues on.
The rally is now run out of South America, due to terrorist threats in desert regions of the African rally's homeland.
So, new home, same game, and I want to do it someday. There are plenty of privateer teams, as most of the expense is the vehicle you use.
I wouldn't plan on seeing the confetti-filled finish line, but to be able to drive along with these crazy machines, would be all the amazement I could ever need.

get the 240 running and let's GO! it's already 4x4, thin tires are good for sand, and the single slammer ain't gonna break!!
Haha. It wouldn't be that absurd, a long time ago when it was in Europe/Africa, someone raced a Rolls Royce in it, so a 240 does seem comparatively appropriate.
